Movie Lesson: The *Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

5B ^embarked on a learning journey through watching an interesting fantasy movie: The *Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe as our post-SA2 activity.

The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels for children by C. S. Lewis.

The story was about four British children: Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie who were #evacuated during a war to the countryside. They found a wardrobe that led them to the fantasy world of Narnia. They learnt about bravery and friendship. They allied with the King of Narnia - the Lion Aslan against the evil forces of the White Witch.

Here are the post-movie discussion questions:
1) State adjectives to describe each of the children character in the story. (Eg. the loyal Lucy, the greedy Edmund etc)

2) Which is your favourite part of the story? Why?

3) If you can choose to be one of the talking animals, who would it be? Why?

Enjoy the show and have fun learning.
I hope some of you would pick out the Chronicles of Narnia novel from the bookstore or library to read during the school holidays.

  2. The Chronicles Of Narnia arrives at Marina Bay Sands this Christmas

The magical world of Narnia comes to Singapore on Dec 3. Based on C.S. Lewis' fictional books and blockbuster film series, the exhibition offers a peek into scenes from the literary world of Narnia through authentic costumes, props and set dressings from the Narnia films.

Once inside Narnia, visitors will encounter falling snow and other interactive and instructive elements including:

A replica of the White Witch's Throne where visitors can sit on the icy throne and feel the chill. A nearby display describes the impact of climate change and investigates whether our planet can be frozen for 100 years, just like Narnia. There is also an area featuring King Miraz's castle from the Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian where visitors can build an arch, while learning about the architectural structure and strategy involved in the design. Another area in the exhibition allows visitors to create their own creatures featured in the film through a mix-and-match sequence.

Tickets for the exhibition, which will end Jan 31, 2012, are at $5 per person (2 years and under admitted free and $20 for a Family package (2 adults and up to 4 children, $2.50 each for additional child). All proceeds will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

2)My favourite part of the story is when Peter, Susan and Lucy Pevensie were in trouble, the ices suddenly start to melt and they were rushed into the water. When I saw this, I am afraid they will be capture by their enemies , but also very exciting and tense.

3)If I can choose to be one of the talking animals,it would be Aslan the lion.He is willing to forgive others, forgive those who have done something wrong and had betrayed him before.
