Holiday Reading: book review
Yeah! School holiday is here!
Enjoy yourselves and do plan time for homework and revision too.
Here is a reminder of homework for the week:
1) Math Term 1 Holiday Revision worksheet
2) Revise Math Practice Paper and CA1
3) Revise English Practice Paper and CA1
4) Newspaper cutting: 1 article and 3 new words (write down the meanings of words)
5) Read at least 1 storybook and write an online book review
Here is the book review format:
1) Title of book
2) Author
3) Your favourite charater(s) and why?
4) Describe your favourite part of the story.
5) Would you recommend this storybook to a friend? Why or why not?
Here is my book review.
1) Title: Watermelon
2) Author: Marian Keyes
3) My favourite character is Claire as she is a kind and brave person. She tries her best in everything she does.
4) I enjoy the part of the story when Claire realised how her family members love and cherish her. Although she lived and worked in another country and did not get to see her family often, they still cared a lot for her. When she encountered problems, she was always welcome back home where her family would encourage and help her.
5) I would recommend this storybook to my friends as it is interesting and well-written. I'm sure my friends would enjoy reading it too.
I'm looking forward to reading your book reviews. Have fun!

Rainbow Day 1: Never Say Never!!!
Well done, boys and girls!
Congratulations!
All of you have performanced wonderfully during Rainbow Day 1!
It was amazing!
Your smiles and your confidence had brought on a mighty cheer in the audience!
I'm so proud of all of you!
Thank you Mr Chia for your encouraging words about our performance:
"The last item by P5B was great!
Usually by the time we come to the last item, the children are very fidgety and restless, and it can be quite difficult to engage them.
However, as P5B class performed, the audience was attentive.
Everyone watched.
The class performed well, and what I liked especially was the confidence I saw in the P5B pupils. This is what Rainbow Day is all about."

Welcoming our friends from Thailand!

Hello, Pim, Fay and Grace!
Welcome to Singapore, Endeavour Primary School!
We are very glad to play host to our friends from Thailand!
They will be attending lessons with us for a week.
Today, at the school assembly, the Thai pupils performed their cultural songs and dances.
It was wonderful!
We enjoyed the song - Loi Krathong.
Here is a music video on this song:

How have your Chinese (or Lunar) New Year celebrations been?
Tell us about your Reunion Dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year.
Did you meet up with many relatives during the Chinese New Year home visits?
